Bellingham, Wash., has a walkable downtown with a thriving arts culture, deep brewery scene and restaurants to fit your mood. Several hotels are available throughout the city.

Driving

Bellingham is a convenient drive from the Seattle area or Vancouver, B.C.

Northbound Interstate 5

Take exit 252 to merge onto S. Samish Way toward W. Wash. University. Turn left onto S. Samish, then stay on Samish by turning left at the first stoplight. Continue across the I-5 overpass and turn left on Bill McDonald Pkwy (pass by Wendy’s on the right). Turn right onto S. College Dr. for parking options

Southbound Interstate 5

Take exit 252 for S. Samish Way toward W. Wash. University. Turn right onto S. Samish Way and take the first left onto Bill McDonald Pkwy. Turn right onto S. College Dr. for parking options.

Public Transit

Travel by Train
The Amtrak Cascades train is now running with two trains a day through the Fairhaven Station, under two miles from the event. Same-day travel is possible, but will keep your event day short. Plan to take trains the day before and after if possible.


From Vancouver, B.C.

On the day of the event, an Amtrak train departs Vancouver’s Pacific Central station at 6:35 a.m. with an arrival of 8:35 a.m. A return train departs Fairhaven Station at 5:45 p.m.

From Seattle

An Amtrak train departs King Street Station at 7:50 a.m. on April 29 and arrives at 9:54 a.m. at Fairhaven Station. A return train departs at 7:44 p.m.

Travel by Bus

Several bus companies offer routes from Seattle to Bellingham. FlixBus and Greyhound are among them. Local buses are run by the WTA.

Flying

The most convenient airport to the event is Bellingham International Airport (BLI), just 6 miles away. The airport is serviced by Alaska Airlines, Allegiant, and Southwest Airlines. Flights to Seattle or Vancouver can be combined with other transit options.

Event Location

WWU Communications Facility

Bellingham Visual will be held in the Communications Facility, which is located on the south end of the campus at Western Washington University.

Parking

There are several free parking options on the south end of campus the day of the event. Look for Lots C and 12G off South College Drive. For those wanting to park closer to the event location, there is some fee-based parking in Lots 19G, as well as free parking for those with a state disability parking permit.
